A Great Sunday

Ok, it is Friday already and this post is about Sunday.....ugh...but anyway, we had a great time last Sunday with the Bryant family. We traveled last January with Jan and her aunt Lulu to China to get "the girls". It was so nice to spend a beautiful Sunday afternoon with their big awesome family at their amazing house. Good food, good times, special friends! Thanks Bryant family for hosting. We had such a special day! FYI, there were 13 kiddos between the 2 families! And....they are going back for another adorable little fellow, hopefully this spring!

A Basketball Weekend

Well, school has started back up and so have the classes, lessons and practices and games. I tried my best to hold onto every last second of holiday but alas......life came screaming back! Julia's basketball team had a tournament in Columbia Thursday, Friday and Saturday and I am so glad I decided to "do life" as I got to watch the Eagles win the 2013- 3D Hoops Basketball Tournament! What a great job these girls did! They are really a JV team and even have a few 8th graders on the team but they played at the varsity level for this tournament because they did not have a JV level. AND THEY WON! It was so exciting to watch and even more so because the Eagles were behind and came on strong after half time and ended up winning! What a great group of little fighters! GREAT JOB EAGLES! And I have to brag a bit, it is MY blog, Julia made the All-Tournament team and also won the MVP of the tournament! I was so proud of her! She is such a competitor and NEVER gives up! Way to go Jules! SO proud of you!

A Full Heart

For the past 7 Christmas's  my heart has had an empty place as we waited, not so patiently, for a child of ours that was across the world in China. Whether it was a specific child we were waiting for, or just a longing in my heart, a knowing, that we still had a child out there that belonged in our family....there was that hole. The hole always seemed bigger at Christmastime. This year, much to our families' delight I am sure, my heart feels full. Our littlest one is home. We are complete. (Please God tell me we ARE complete!?)

 As we are fast approaching our 1 year anniversary with Lulu, I recall last Christmas and the agony of NOT having her here with us. My heart hurt. Then on Christmas eve we received a surprise picture of her. A special gift from God!  He knew I needed that to get through the holiday without her. It made my Christmas! How blessed we are to have this little love bug home and in our arms this Christmas. She is pure joy and delight! Her zest for life has added new spark to our traditions and her cuteness doesn't hurt matters either! How I love this child!

The photo we received last Christmas eve...... I unsuccessfully attempted to dive through the computer screen to kiss those chubby cheeks.
